SB180 Rally

On July First, the horrific laws that passed the Kansas Legislature in 2023 went into place; despite numerous questions on applications and enforcement. Regardless of these questions, my concern remains with the trans community in my state, who has become a target of hate and bigotry as a result of these laws.
The intent of my speech is to show my experience with these laws, starting back when I first read the bill in March. Then with its passage in April, I was devastated to the extent I believed I should move from Kansas, leaving my dear friends behind.
Instead, I came to the realization I wanted to stay in Kansas to fight, which is what I have done for nearly two months when I gave this speech. I will not rest until my vision for this world exists, which is one where trans people everywhere can live as safely as everyone else!
