Membership 2023+
Johnson County Pride holds a special place in my heart, as I attended my first ever Pride in the Park about one month after coming out to my kids. It was the first place I wore a dress in public, and it was the first time I met my US House Representative Sharice Davids!
After attending my second, I saw a meeting on Facebook about helping to plan the 2023 event, so I attended! The next month, I was among the group present when Mike Kelly, Johnson County Commissioners Chairman proclaimed June 2023 Pride Month. After another month, I was voted onto the Board!!
I am excited to give back to the group that has meant so much for my transition, whether they realize it or not!!!
